Jarosław Koziara’s balloons are returning to Bramowa Street. As part of the celebrations marking the Union of Lublin Day, sixteen monumental installations will once again float above the historic route leading to the Old Town. This year, the installation tells not only the story of the city’s celebration, but also of the idea of European unity and Lublin’s journey towards the title of European Capital of Culture 2029.
The installation will feature sixteen balloons representing past, present and future European Capitals of Culture. Each balloon reflects the identity of a different city, together creating a symbolic image of Europe—diverse, yet united by shared values and the exchange of experiences. Under the common slogan Re:UNION, the balloons will transform the space above Bramowa Street into a visual dialogue between cities, cultures and histories.
Jarosław Koziara’s project has long been one of the most distinctive artistic interventions in Lublin’s public space.
This year’s edition is a symbolic invitation to reflect on Lublin’s future as a city open to culture, dialogue and collaboration. For several days, Bramowa Street will become a place where two ideas meet: the memory of the Union of Lublin and the vision of a Europe built through culture.
