The Eastern Congress of Young Leaders, an event gathering young, ambitious people from all over Poland and abroad, has just finished in Lublin. One of the discussion panels was devoted to using the energy and experience of young people involved in the implementation of the European Youth Capital in the ongoing bid for the European Capital of Culture 2029.

The Eastern Congress of Young Leaders provides an opportunity to exchange experiences, acquire new skills, and establish valuable contacts. It offers participation in inspiring lectures and discussion panels with famous speakers, as well as establishing relationships between young leaders from various industries and environments.
The key event during the Congress was the panel “How to use the potential of young people involved in the implementation of the European Youth Capital during the European Capital of Culture?”. The host, Agnieszka Parol Górna, Director of the Youth Policy Office of the City of Lublin, asked the invited guests about actions which young people can take to actively contribute, and tools they need to fully use their potential. Invited guests included Jagoda Idzik, educator from the Semper a Frente Foundation, Maciej Cieciora, social activist, former Chairman of the Lublin Student Council, Rafał Koziński, program coordinator of ECoC 2029 and Anastazja Sereda, President of AISEC Lublin. They had no doubt that the youth participation tools implemented in 2023 contributed to the increase in the activity of young people, and to strengthening their sense of agency and co-responsibility for the present, and future of the city. Launching a network of youth spaces, and grant programs such as Youth Inspires Districts, Miejski Activator Młodzieżowy or City Academy, activate young people to act and are an excellent training in cooperation skills, implementation of initiatives serving entire communities and development of individual passions and talents.

The multiculturalism of our city favours the exchange of ideas and perspectives, which in turn leads to the creation of innovative solutions. People from different cultures bring unique approaches to problems. The city of Lublin is becoming a laboratory of change, where diversity inspires the creativity and entrepreneurship of its inhabitants.
This year, the Congress also discussed the topics of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence in education. The participants talked about the presence of young people on the labour market and challenges of a career in corporations. There were also topics related to the anniversary of Poland’s accession to the European Union.
The Eastern Congress of Young Leaders took place in parallel with the Local Government Congress of the Three Seas, organized by the Marshal’s Office of the Lublin Voivodeship in Lublin.
