Folk Song & Dance Ensemble “Lublin” has recently visited Portugal as part of the bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2029. The folklore took part in the Festival Internacional de Folclore, Cultura e Arte, held in the city of Almeirim.= between April 23rd and May 2nd.
Lublin dancers shared the festival stages with artists from Brazil, India, Slovakia, Argentina, Greece, Paraguay, Spain, France, and Mexico. During the festival, the group presented Polish dances, songs, and folk music. They performed 12 times, and each concert was enthusiastically received. In addition to a series of concerts, the group took part in a parade, hosted an animation party, and taught dances for children and seniors. The delegation of the “Lublin” ensemble was invited to an official meeting with the authorities of the city of Almeirim. Participation in the festival was an excellent opportunity to present Polish culture, and the richness of our folklore, as well as to promote the country, and the city of Lublin.
